Sterling silver pendant with hand-stamped details and a gorgeous slice of Rainbow Moonstone. This classic southwestern style is inspired by vintage Native American jewelry and features a double-band of thick sterling silver. This amazing natural stone is commonly called Rainbow Moonstone because of how it flashes color and is reminiscent of the glowing moon, however it technically is considered a Labradorite from the Feldspar family.
The Naja symbol was used in traditional Navajo jewelry as protection against evil, as decoration, and a sign of wealth & power. This ancient design has origins dating back to the Moors, Romans and Greeks. Some say it was introduced to the Native Americans by the Spanish invaders. Some say the Plains Indians are the first to use it for jewelry.
I wanted to make a modern and simple version, featuring genuine Moonstone. This listing is for one silver pendant necklace. The pendant measures approximately 1.25in across. The sterling silver chain measures 18 inches and has a small lobster clasp.
